Newbies

Each year brings lots of new things. New friends. New memories. New goals. New joys. New tears. New babies. New puppies. *(actually those came for our family on Christmas day).

It also brings a time of reflection. We spent yesterday asking the kids what they were thankful for in 2009, and it began a long talk reviewing some great memories.

Today, we will head with several other families to celebrate our 10
th annual New Years Day: lunch, football, eating, kids playing, more eating, kids arguing, adults playing card games, etc... It marks the last decade, as it has tripled in size with all the kids running around. This group has shared some remarkable joys and sorrows.

I'm sure this next decade will look more like ball games, chaperoned dates, and school performances...than diapers, poop and spit up. And even though the teen age years will bring it's own challenges, that's okay with me.

Cheers to you and your family as you celebrate this next decade today!
